A warm and aromatic blend of agarwood (oud), cedar, smoke, and exotic spices. (Fragrance Oil)
All Stirling soap performs excellently. However, the scent of each one is unique and subject to your taste. I didn't particularly like Agar. It's a somewhat bitter and kind of like a medicine smell to me. But that's ok, you won't know unless you try it and Stirling samples make it possible to try a soap without spending a lot. This is spot on to the Tom Ford Oud Wood edp. It has a very crisp almost ozone quality that I can't get enough of! It smells exotic, while also clean and refreshing at the same time. With the same excellent quality that Stirling is known for, this will be a year round scent for me. I ordered the refill puck and aftershave, but am already putting in an order for the full tub and a second bottle of aftershave because I know I will burn through my stash quickly. I have quickly moved Stirling into my top 3 go to soap companies and they will solidly stay there with the top notch quality and scent profiles! T. Young on 15th Dec 2017
I have been wet-shaving for about 7 years now. In that time frame I have tried out many soaps in the various forms and scent types/profiles. I myself like the WOOD scents like CEDAR and SANDALWOOD and at the top of that wood piramid is the Ardarwood. The scent of this soap is just wonderful. When I had a long beard, I used beard oils and my favorite one was Argarwood. Until now I haven't been able to enjoy the scent due to being clean shaved. Anyways, Stirling is my hero and came through with a straight up home run out the park with this one!! I will be ordering the whole range of products with this AGAR scent;
Soap, Splash and Balm. Seriously, this scent is the one I have been searching for and let me tell you I had communicated with other artisans about a custom scent and even sent the beard oil to match the scent and no one even come close. So great job guys!! It is my official favorite scent of ALL-TIME! Jeremy D on 14th Dec 2017
It's a very pleasant, mildly exotic, oud (agarwood) smell. Ive tried expensive recent releases of oud fragrances (ie one by Tom Ford) so i figured if it is anything like that, i cant lose. It is in the ballpark of expensive oud cologne scents. The performance as a shaving soap is excellent, better than I would reasonably expect but Im no expert. Having used Tabac and Stirling shaving soaps, Im not searching for better performing soaps. pbfde on 9th Dec 2017
The Agar shave soap is awesome. I have really enjoyed the sweet smell. Lather builds up really well and smooth Justin on 3rd Nov 2017
Smells great! Not overpowering and pleasant to wake up to. Got a pre-release puck (two actually) because it was a good price, but this really smells great and I love Stirling Soap anyway so I already knew it would "work" well. Steven on 2nd Nov 2017
I used the new Agar for the second time today. It is improved over the initial test formula. It leans more to the Agar/Oud side now. I would describe it as a "light, clean, woodsy" scent, but then I am terrible at describing scents..................
I do wish the scent was stronger. Another winner from Rod & Mandy! Bob C on 22nd Oct 2017
Just received it. I wanted to give it a spin. Scent is nice. Not overpowering at all. Kind of reminds me of Old Spice Musk from India. More sweet & spicy. The soap performance is typical of Sterling: Easy to lather, nice consistency and slick as ice. Another winner from Sterling! Michael M. on 21st Oct 2017
I bought the first batch and the scent is not oud. It was way too light scented ot be oud. The soap was also a little to soft but a little curing on the slef can fix that. now the slickness lather and cushion was spot on with other Stirling soaps. Will try htis Argar final batch and update. Unknown on 14th Oct 2017
I love this fragrance. It smells clean, like freshly laundered towels. Whenever I lathered up, the fragrance I got was definitely cedar - slightly, faintly sweet, and then woody notes. I could pick up on the Oud as well. I didn't really detect the smokiness but whatever Rod has mixed up for this fragrance, he did great. It is a winner. After I rinsed the soap off, I could still catch whiffs of the fragrance for some time.
My wife loves it. The last fragrance I tried, she said smelled too perfumey. Not this one. I love this fragrance because it is subtle and sophisticated, clearly masculine, and not overpowering.
As with all of the other Stirling Soaps that I've tried, this one goes on smoothly and lathers well. The razor just glides over my face. I have very sensitive skin, and all the Stirling Soaps make the shave much more pleasant. Casey on 10th Aug 2017
