    1. Complex Scent- Top Notch Performance

This scent is hard to describe. It seems to me to be a barbershop type scent, but without the powder note. There's a citrus type tang, with a floral undertone. Then the woody undertone comes out. I'm not usually a fan of patchouli, but it's a subdued player in this scent. Of course, the performance of this soap is typical Stirling, slick, cushiony, and almost seems to lather itself. I highly recommend this one! on 2nd Dec 2017

    2. My New Favorite Stirling Scent!

Being a fan of Sherlock Holmes, I was drawn to this scent strictly because of the name. When I read the scent description and saw patchouli, I decided to pass. Eventually, I got a bath bar sample with one of my orders, and immediately wished I tried this sooner! To me It's a barbershop scent without the talc mixed with a nice, subdued classic manly cologne smell. An absolute knockout! I bought the soap and matching splash and couldn't be happier! on 17th Nov 2017

    3. Scent isn't for me

To be completely fair, this 4 out 5 is STRICTLY based on scent not at all concerning the quality of the soap. I never had the pleasure of trying the old baker st scent, and I bought a sample on a whim. It's not for me, but it certainly has a cult following.

I personally think the almond, the black cherry, the sandalwood and barbershop are much better.

    4. Like an traditional barbershop

What can I say? It's clean and simple, a rich lather and a smooth shave.
      Pharaoh's Dreamsicle is better. :D

    5. great smell....this and sharp dressed man are all u need from Stirling

I ordered 12-13 samples from stirling and got this one. Having tried it I can say that stirling is overrated and the only scents that smell
Good are this and sharp dressed man.

Look else where for your soaps.

    6. great all around

i tried the bath soap and had to get the shave soap, balm and aftershave. its a great classic scent. its very clean barbershop like. if in doubt order a sample or get the bath soap. this is definitely going to be added to my rotation of soaps. on 11th Oct 2017

    7. A classic

This product is great! the smell is wonderful. the shave like all Stirling products is the best protection money can buy. The lather is good on 28th Sep 2017

    8. Just OK - weak

Performance is there as usual. Lathers well, good slickness, doesn't dry quickly. The scent reminds me of a fresh and clean-scented bar soap. Hints of flowers (almost like baby powder...)and maybe spice. Product description is a bit misleading as I find this scent more feminine. I actually have difficulty describing the smell b/c I find the scent very subtle. I might like it more if the scent were stronger. I'm not expecting the scent to linger very long. So in that sense perhaps it will pair nicely with most any cologne. on 22nd Sep 2017

    9. Absolute Favorite

I love this scent. It's crisp, and if you close your eyes you can see yourself standing outside 221 B! on 19th Sep 2017

    10. Great lather and scent

I purchased a sample of the Baker Street shave soap. The scent is just awesome and I'm considering purchasing the same scent in aftershave splash. It lathers nicely and provides good slickness and volume for three passes with the razor. I highly recommend! on 14th Sep 2017

    11. Another great scent!!

Stirling in my opinion has the best shaving soap, I have tried some other companies products and they in my opinion don't measure up to Stirling's product, the performance is second to none, scent of the Baker Street is also fantastic, one of my new favorites. on 1st Sep 2017

    12. Good soap, good scent, but sent strenth is too weak.

Excellent performer, like all Stirling soaps. This fragrance – to me – is very much like a mixture of a kind of “Irish Tweed” with a kind of “Barbershop”. A fresh and delicious scent that I would buy again, if the strength of the scent was much higher. Lathered it’s only about 3/10. on 22nd Jul 2017

    13. You don't need to be a detective to know this scent is awesome!

The smell is a clean manly smell. I first get a sweet smell, perhaps woodish smell at the end. Its not a cool smell that is associated with mens generic shaving soaps. To me the smell is less sweet than the Executive Man scent. Both are fantastic. Smell is different to everyone, but I don't think you could go wrong with this one as the majority of people would enjoy it!. on 16th Jul 2017

    14. Clean!!!

Very fresh and soapy like scent! Lather, slickness, and cuality are top notch!!! Seriously I think the only negative thing I've seen people review on these products are because of scent strength or scent preference. Scent is subjective. Quality is not. You will not find a better shave soap, regardless of price, anywhere. on 10th Jul 2017

    15. once i smelled the soap, had to order the aftershave

Awesome scent. Great performance as usual from Stirling. on 15th Jun 2017

    16. A favorite

Absolutely love the scent: Light, subtle, masculine, with a hint of spice. It's not overly in-your-face or offensive and will play well with a lot of other scents. My go-to shave soap, as I can follow it with pretty much any aftershave and it won't interfere. Love this stuff. on 29th May 2017

    17. A Bygone Gem Available Again

I always liked Strop Shoppe's Baker Street since it was such a nice unique manly scent and was disappointed when they ceased operations. However when I saw Stirling was now offering its own version, I had to pounce. I knew it would be even more slick as well as a terrific value for its quality and price. I was not disappointed as Stirling knocks it out of the park every time. Great job Rod, but I hope you may get the opportunity to offer some of the other Strop Shoppe soap scents that were just as nice. Just a thought Sir, just a thought! on 20th May 2017

    18. Winding Your Way Down On Baker Street...

This is one of my NEW Favorites! I love the scent and as always the performance is fantastic! on 12th May 2017

    19. Amazing performance as usual.

I prefer the stronger scents like Ozark or Margaritas but if you prefer a lighter scent that will smell good while you're shaving but not interfere with other scents you may be wearing than this will be a 5 star soap for you. The Baker pre-shave oil is also nice, I use that even more often than the soap. on 9th May 2017

    20. Love this soap!!

Glad Rod and Mandy were able to bring this back to life. Love this scent and as with all Stirling soaps, performance is unbeatable. on 17th Apr 2017
