Beautiful dense boar brush with a substatial amount of backbone. Set into a sturdy faux ivory and black resin handle. Will build lather at a price point well above its retail cost.
NOTE: Boar brushes do have a break in period and a mild animalic scent which will fade with use.

While making other purchases at Stirling Soap I saw this boar brush advertised and thought I would give it a try. I was attracted by the awesome looking handle and the modest price. Up to now I have been only using badger brushes, but I wanted to test drive something new and I'm glad I did. I want to first say that the handle feels and looks great and happens now to be my new favorite brush handle. I'm new to boar bristle and it took me a couple of days to appreciate it's differences from my badger brushes, but I found I really like it and the brush is now in my regular rotation of brushes. One further note is I read online about some mentioning a bristle shedding issue. While its true that the first few shaves had some mild bristle shedding, in just a few more days that was no longer a problem. Frankly it wasn't much different than what I have experienced with new badger brushes. Bottom line: very happy with this product. Skip on 13th Feb 2018
This brush is fantastic. I was looking for something a little more coarse than my badger hair brush for those thicker shave soaps like Stirling's and saw this one their site. I'm thrilled with it; does a great job loading and working up a lather. A quality addition to add to my war chest at a very reasonable price. Josh in Chicago on 8th Feb 2018
I am very pleased with this brush. I prefer boar hair brushes (synthetic brush when traveling). This one has a beautiful dense knot. It is taking a little longer to break in than my brushes with smaller knots, but that is too be expected. The handle is bigger and weightier than brushes in this price range, a big plus for me. Overall, a great brush at a great price.
Also, it fits perfectly in my new Stirling "Wide" razor and brush holder. This brush should displayed on your counter-top and not hidden in the cabinet. SteveC on 13th Jan 2018
I have two of these brushes. Neither had any smell of note. Both broke in very well. The size is just right. Handle is not too big, but certainly not wimpy. The second one sheds a little bit, I had no issues with the first one after a week or so. Once broken in, the tips are very soft. The only reminder that it is a boar will be the backbone. I own many brushes, but this is the only one I use. I am hesitant to speak of the price because I don’t want Stirling to raise it. You are getting a fine quality brush here. Don’t let the price point fool you! Mason Paramore on 6th Jan 2018
Very disappointed in the quality. Hairs continue to fall out at and extreme rate. william on 29th Dec 2017
I own a lot of brushes; boar, badger, synthetics. I use mostly boar brushes since I find they work better with hard shaving soaps. This one went straight into my top five because of how it loads and lathers and its appearance. It has good backbone and the handle is the perfect length and fit for my hand. And it has a great vintage look to it. You can't beat a brush of this quality at this price. Every serious wet shaver should have this brush in their collection. Paul Francolini on 26th Dec 2017
This is the most comfortable handle in my collection. I followed the B&B recommended 3 day boar brush break-in and this provided me the softest brush imaginable. Soak in water in the refrigerator for 24 to 48 hours, then soak 12 hours in highly diluted hair conditioner-water solution (the controversial part). Then rub on towel in your lap. After a week of use, this brush is softer than my favorite silver tip but with triple the backbone. This brush lathers Stirling Shave Soap perfectly! Also, holds water with no issues. I have only lost a few hairs during the break-in period and none since. Also, no animal scent at all. This is possibly the greatest performing value brush in history. Get it, follow the advice and enjoy it. Jonny B on 4th Dec 2017

I can't believe how great this brush is. Seriously, it has replace my usual synthetic brush wish had been my favorite. For this price, how can you not buy one? Unknown on 2nd Dec 2017
I am a huge fan of boar brushes and this one just become my favorite!!! Awesome quality and the price is amazing!! James Bonadies on 27th Nov 2017
This is my first foray into boar brushes. I already own the 24mm stirling badger and i love it. I dont love this boar yet but it has been easy to break in. My only reason for not loving it is constant shedded. Ive used this brush probably around 30-40 times now and performance wise, no issue. Just dont like finding hairs all the time. But for the price, id recommend it. rsn5044 on 5th Nov 2017
Love this brush, color of handle, weight and size. when I got the brush, lathered it twice and let it sit after the second lather for 20 min with soap in it than rinsed and soaked in plan water for 24 hrs lathered a last time with Dawn rinsed well and soaked another 24 hrs let dry. The brush is nice and soft but with plenty of back bone, and the softness continues, fourth use. The soap used was Stirling soap Agar ver. 2 slickness and protection great, smell of the soap to me is woodsy with other scent. Good to my nose and most of all the wife. Great products thanks. I purchased this brush because I liked the handle design. I tend to gravitate towards boar rather than badger brushes. I've used it for a little while and it has given good performance. It broke in sooner than I thought. I'm satisfied with this brush purchase. Michael M on 20th Oct 2017
This is by far the best deal I have found for a good Boar brush. It shed a few hairs for the first two uses and has done great ever since. I like that it has a little scritch to it and a decent back bone. It quickly became my go-to brush and gets better every day. Joe H on 9th Oct 2017
This brush is a real bargain, it’s well made, feels substantial, and lathers well. After a handful of shaves with it, the bristles have softened up nicely and it’s very comfortable to use. I also like that it has a bigger handle that you can get a good grip on. Definitely recommend this brush! Unknown on 4th Oct 2017
Really wanted to love this brush -- and I do love the handle. The style, weight, and feel of the handle are awesome. I lost count at 48 shed hairs on the third use. It's calmed down comparatively after 10 shaves -- only lost 2 hairs in the past 3 shaves. Either I got a MAJOR lemon or this brush may need some knot reconsideration/TLC. Steven on 16th Sep 2017
I am very impressed with this brush, It has excellent backbone, splays nicely and lathers well. My only real issue with this brush is that is looks like a couple of hairs were but in upside down but I actually think that helps the brush maintain more backbone. For the price this is by far the best brush I've bought the next closest boar being a limited edition from Semogue.
I broke in this brush using the pronto method before using so that may be part of my success using it. Ian on 15th Sep 2017
I can't say I know a lot about brushes, this being the second one I've ever owned, but I have to agree with all of the other reviews, I like it! It has a lovely weight and feel in the hand, it makes a great lather (especially with my Sterling Soap). John on 1st Sep 2017
Ordered this brush and I was blown away how nice it was when I received it! Very nice hefty handle with nice weight. This Boar brush blows my favorite Semogue brushes out of the water! Huge Loft with the right amount of softness & good backbone. Get this awesome brush before they are gone..... it's definitely worth it! Brian on 25th Aug 2017
This brush was so nice I came back and got 5 more for Christmas Gifts! Broke in Soft with plenty of back bone and flow to make a great lather. It didn't have much of the boar odor as I have seen in other boar brushes. Unknown on 23rd Aug 2017
I own and make shaving brushes I've used Boar brushes for years. I have to say for the price this is a bargain. The style of the handle is great and it has a nice weight. Stirling has made a good choice to add to their product line. If you are looking for a every day shaving brush this is it. It's up ther with Omega and Semogue IMO.
I would recommend this brush. john W. on 23rd Aug 2017
