Beautiful dense boar brush with a substatial amount of backbone. Set into a sturdy faux ivory and black resin handle. Will build lather at a price point well above its retail cost.
NOTE: Boar brushes do have a break in period and a mild animalic scent which will fade with use.

Really wanted to love this brush -- and I do love the handle. The style, weight, and feel of the handle are awesome. I lost count at 48 shed hairs on the third use. It's calmed down comparatively after 10 shaves -- only lost 2 hairs in the past 3 shaves. Either I got a MAJOR lemon or this brush may need some knot reconsideration/TLC. Steven on 16th Sep 2017
I am very impressed with this brush, It has excellent backbone, splays nicely and lathers well. My only real issue with this brush is that is looks like a couple of hairs were but in upside down but I actually think that helps the brush maintain more backbone. For the price this is by far the best brush I've bought the next closest boar being a limited edition from Semogue.
I broke in this brush using the pronto method before using so that may be part of my success using it. Ian on 15th Sep 2017
I can't say I know a lot about brushes, this being the second one I've ever owned, but I have to agree with all of the other reviews, I like it! It has a lovely weight and feel in the hand, it makes a great lather (especially with my Sterling Soap). John on 1st Sep 2017
Ordered this brush and I was blown away how nice it was when I received it! Very nice hefty handle with nice weight. This Boar brush blows my favorite Semogue brushes out of the water! Huge Loft with the right amount of softness & good backbone. Get this awesome brush before they are gone..... it's definitely worth it! Brian on 25th Aug 2017
This brush was so nice I came back and got 5 more for Christmas Gifts! Broke in Soft with plenty of back bone and flow to make a great lather. It didn't have much of the boar odor as I have seen in other boar brushes. Unknown on 23rd Aug 2017
I own and make shaving brushes I've used Boar brushes for years. I have to say for the price this is a bargain. The style of the handle is great and it has a nice weight. Stirling has made a good choice to add to their product line. If you are looking for a every day shaving brush this is it. It's up ther with Omega and Semogue IMO.
I would recommend this brush. john W. on 23rd Aug 2017
This is a very handsome brush. That's what drew me to it.
It has a 24 mm knot with a 57 mm loft. I enjoy the process of breaking in a boar brush. I usually use it every other day.
I'm glad I purchased this. WELL worth the price. I've purchased from Sterling Soap Co. before. They have a good reputation. Wm B. on 22nd Aug 2017
Holding up well and maintains shape nicely Unknown on 18th Aug 2017
I had another brush from another company. This brush has excellent backbone and really holds the lather. There really wasn't any animal smell. The handle is very nice and has a nice weight and feel. Unknown on 16th Aug 2017
I was attracted to the faux Ivory handle, the imprint of Sterling, the size, the thick Boar loft, etc. However after the usual boar break_in, I find that for two key factors, it's not as user-friendly as my other Boar brushes. First, it takes three days to dry before I can use it again, and secondly even with the same loading routine as my other brushes(perhaps even more), I can't load enough soap(MITA or Orange Chill) for a three pass shave..basically I have to add more water for the second pass, and more for the third which is basically a chin line and neck clean-up which is done with a Dorco 3 blade cartridge. I enjoy boar brushes immensely and have used many and this is a top notch performer.the knit is amazing and the handle weight spot on and super comfortable. I can't give this brush enough praise. I believe everyone should have one of these brushes in their den ASAP. Gonzo on 16th Aug 2017
I did the 3-day soak in the refrigerator, with daily 10-minute vigorous towel rubs, followed by one week of Suribachi bowl lathers. The results are stunning. Split ends galore and very soft. Another week of so and it should be fully broken in complete with those tiny hooks on the ends.
The handle is perfect for my large hand and the whole brush looks great.
At this price, you get incredible quality. Thank you, Stirling, for making this brush available.

I'm not a big fan of boar brushes but this turned out to be very nice considering the price.
It did shed a few hairs for the first 5 or 6 times I used it but it seems to have settled down and works well.
The handle looks and feels great. For the price you can't go wrong! Jack on 16th Aug 2017
I was surprised that there was no "boar" smell that is common with natural fiber brushes.
A quick wash and soak in warm water was all that was needed. This one lathers like a champ. The handle is very comfortable in the hand.
For the price, you can't beat it. I own several other boar brushes that were more expensive than this brush, and I like this one better than most of those. Give it a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Vincent R. on 14th Aug 2017
While the brush did lose hairs the first 5 shaves, it is now holding up quite well. No odor and fairly soft right out of the box. Definitely a great buy, especially at this price! danbuter on 14th Aug 2017
I love boar brushes and just couldn't resist picking up this new brush at an excellent price. This brush looks great, performs awesome and fits my hand like a glove. It does shed a bit when breaking it in but that's to be expected with any knot that's packed this densely. Trust me, you need to get this brush. It will quickly become one of your favorites. Larry L. on 13th Aug 2017
Just received mine yesterday opened it today. WOW!! What can I say for the price this is a beautiful brush, good weight, nice size knot, great style, the fit and finish John W. on 11th Aug 2017
This is my first boar brush and I can only say wow! Only used very well known and far more expensive badger brushes but this is my first brush as of now. Used it three times, no smell, lost som hairs the first usage and it lathers like crazy. Perfect for face lathering and is easy to use with multiple pass shaving. Highly recommendable. This is my follow up reveiw with this brush. Ive used about 10 times so far. First several shaves it lost a few hairs each time. But now it pretty much stopped. This brush is so densely packed that I figured it would lose hairs at first. The knot is still plenty packed. It is a very stiff brush, and it has a wide plum, almost like a badger. The brush is very soft now with fantastic backbone. I found even though it works great bowl lathering, it forte is face lathering stiff but soft.
The handle is second to none! This brush takes a bit of time but once broken in, it the best for the money. I would gladly pay more for it. robert stockton on 9th Aug 2017
.....first time I used it, it shed quite a bit....... it has calmed down a bit... and not losing as many hairs..... hopefully, the shedding will stop...
.....I do like the handle very much..... has a good feel and weight to it... love those boars on 9th Aug 2017
