Juniper Berry, a couple of limes, a splash of lemon, and a bit of menthol make this soap the most refreshing soap in the world. (Essential Oil & Menthol)
Nice clean and mentholated soap! Its got a real clean lime scent backed with just a bit of juniper berry to give you that Gin scent. The lemon pairs with this soap very well. It literally smells like putting your nose up to a glass of gin with your nose close to that slice of lime on a glass. Its much more lime/lemon smell but it still has that real good blend with juniper berry. Overall I got a real clean shave and the menthol addition just makes this soap that much better. I tried the original version that wasnt on the rocks and it was ok but this one makes the experience that much better. If you could jump into a glass of gin and tonic on the rocks, this is what you would get. Thanks Rod & Mandy for another great soap! Frank V on 19th Aug 2017
Love this soap. Very much a cocktail for the face. Starts off with a very pleasant lime scent with juniper in the background. Then the menthol starts to tingle, especially in the second pass. As you drift into your shaving buzz the lemon starts to dance ever so gently with the lime. After your third pass you are left in a menthol gin infused euphoria. A must try. G&T's are one of my favorite cocktails- so I had to sample this soap. Not sure I really get the juniper cocktail notes, but this is a fantastic bright, clean, interesting lime scent with a nice menthol coolness. And, much like the entire Stirling line, it lathers like a champ! Very enjoyable and a great post-shave face feel...give it a go! Greg on 10th Aug 2017
This is a wonderful mentholated soap. It's like walking into a forest filled with lime and lemon. Frank on 4th Aug 2017
Like all Stirling shave soaps, Gin & Tonic on the Rocks produces a rich, slick lather for a close, comfortable shave and soft, smooth post-shave skin. (At this point, Stirling is the only brand I use.) The menthol produces a brisk cooling sensation. The juniper berry, lime, and lemon fragrance is crisp, clean, and refreshing. Excellent. GOTR on deck this morning.
Used two different brushes (synthetics) along with two different razors = the advantage of having a lot of geography to cover...full meal deal = face and dome.
I am always perplexed how soap will turn out given the hard water. Lather looked a little dry while loading out of the container.
But then for the shave...great lather. Will need to adjust a little on the water content (given that it was the first shave). Plenty of lather for three passes.
Nice a slick. Post shave face feel is amazing.
The menthol AS(Proraso) not even a tingle.
Did I forget to mention....mentholation is perfect on GOTR. Nice cooling effect.
The size of the container = perfect fit for both brushes (22mm and 25mm).
Nice labels. Nice touch that the labels on the refills come off easily and can be re-used.

It has been written that there is a gin & tonic in every galaxy. Well I'm glad that I live in the galaxy that this one exists in. I always put extra ice in my G&T drink and this is as if I made it myself. Lathers great and cools the face faster than any Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster could. Norm on 15th Jun 2017
I posted a review of this under the regular Gin & Tonic version yesterday so if Rod or Mandy would like to delete it, please feel free to do so since it belongs right here.
I received this awesome soap two days ago along with some other Stirling treasures and let me tell you that it's absolutely magnificent. I cannot believe how refreshing and invigorating the scent is, the way the lather explodes off a brush with such richness and slickness. I'd also say there's much more than just a bit of menthol in it because I was surprised at how cold it felt especially when I re-lathered for my second and third passes. I'd rate it easily at a 6.5 on my own personal Krazy Menthol Scale so it compares to the MITA. Skincare-wise, what can I say? It's perfect - end of story. Rod and Mandy, you two beautiful guys have what I must have said a million times already - the BEST stuff a wetshaver could want! Jeff on 9th Jun 2017
