A drive through the Ozark Mountains in fall is the best way to describe this scent. It is woodsy, spicy, and absolutely the closest fragrance we have found to replicating the aroma of the Ozarks. (Fragrance Oil)
This is currently my favorite shave soap. The scent reminds me of Christmas. I am very partial to winter pine, juniper, and other woodsy scents. The scent lingers after the shave. The soap lathers easily in my quite easily, although I have softer water. It provides excellent slickness and protection. I will be purchasing this again without any hesitation. Chris on 19th Aug 2017
Slick, easy to lather, and smells great. The soap absolutely makes the shave and I truly look forward to shaving now. Tim Higdon on 18th Aug 2017
When I first opened this soap it immediately reminded me of the smell of a Christmas tree when I was young. It has great slickness and lathers easy. Fred Stuart on 10th Aug 2017
This might be my favorite scent from Stirling. It's woodsy but fresh. The bath version of this, Pig Trail, is what I'm currently using in the shower, and following it up with Ozark Mountain for my shave is awesome. If they made this scent in an EdT I'd buy it in a heartbeat! Andrew on 6th Aug 2017
Pleasant memories of the time spent in nature. Perfect quality and aroma of soap. Alexsander K. on 1st Aug 2017
Excellent performer, like all Stirling soaps. This fresh, woody, spicy and floral scent provides the illusion of walking along mountain streams, through mountain pastures and forests. To me the dominant scent is that of spruce needles and cones. But there is a lot more to it. Scent strength is about 7/10. It’s one of my favourites of Sterling’s. I shall definitely buy it again. I was a little hesitant to order this soap at first because I was afraid it would be a sort of heavy woodsy cedar kind of scent, but I've read many reviews here and they persuaded me. I can now say that I'm glad I ordered it because I fell in love with this scent. It's very fresh and green to me and complex enough to keep me guessing the notes during a shave.
How's the performance..? Well let's just say I have several other top artisan soaps from different makers, as well as soaps like Proraso, Cella, TFS, Razorock, Speick, Haslinger, etc. and I will get rid of everything except for my Stirling soaps and one or two others. I try a lot of products, but when I find something I really like I'll stick to it. If my samples are done I'll gladly be ordering the full tubs.
I just shaved my head a couple of mins ago and had to review this immediately after, that's how good it is! Also, I keep smelling my hands like a weirdo because the scent is so good, lol! Tim, Netherlands on 8th Jul 2017
The scent on this is very nice, I enjoy shaving with this soap. I love spending time in the mountains so this soap brings back some great memories when i use it. Scent strength is great and the balm is dead on too. DARRELL on 20th Jun 2017
All Stirling soaps are made with the utmost quality, we know that they are going to lather amazingly and last for a long time. The main difference is the scent and this scent is amazing, if they sold this as a candle or air freshener I would want my whole house to smell like this. Dave (rChewbacca on reddit) on 9th May 2017
I really love this soap. The scent is very piney. Almost too piney at first; I had my doubts. After the first use, though, it became my favorite of all my samples. If it seems a little much at first, just try it and you won't be disappointed. A good scent has the power to make you feel great about yourself and sets the tone for the day, and this is a perfect way of starting the morning.
All of the samples I've tried have had great lather and were very slick. I haven't had any irritation from any of the soaps, which is a big deal for me as I tend to have sensitive skin. Previous to trying Stirling, I had been using a different brand that I couldn't use every day due to irritation and redness. I thought my brush might be too harsh. Turns out it was the soap, and with Stirling I can use it every day with no issues. The last brand would also dry up on my face before I was finished shaving. Again, no issues like that with Stirling.
In addition to the scents and performance from this company, I'm impressed with their values and practices that they talk about in their FAQ, such as the fact that they use biodegradable plastic wrap instead of regular plastic. An all-around impressive company that I'm excited to keep supporting. Next I'll buy a full tub of Ozark and a few more samples; I plan on keeping my bathroom well stocked. Lindsey on 6th May 2017
I know this is not their Mountain Man that I still need to try, but hands down this is the most amazing scent that brings the deep Forest to your daily shaving. There is no scent out there that compares to this scent that I use year round. Have I mentioned the great size of the 5.8oz of soap. The dish allows for a great load. Very soon Ill need to reorder this soap and aftershave which by the way pairs nicely with the soap. AMAZING JOB Stirling Soap Crew Stephen on 26th Apr 2017
Great shave soap. Scent is very refreshing as I live in a concrete jungle. Nick on 19th Apr 2017
When it comes to stirling soaps you always get something of excellent quality. If you are someone that loves the smell of pine, this is for you. The dry soap has a very strong scent and i was worried i would smell like a christmas tree all day but after my shave it had a subtle lingering scent that I really liked. Unknown on 7th Mar 2017
This is easily the best shave soap I've used to date. The slickness and scent is top notch! I will definitely be buying more. My only regret is not ordering it sooner. Unknown on 3rd Feb 2017
Stirling products are amazing. This isn't my personal favorite scented soap, but it's good and you won't be disappointed. The makers of these soaps are genius and they have some that just blow my mind! This soap fragrance takes me back to camping in the Utah mountains! The smell matches that perfectly for me! Alan on 2nd Feb 2017
I can never say enough good things about Stirling. Great slick and cushiony lather with a nice wet sheen to it. First time trying Ozark Mountain, and it was fantastic. Great for someone who likes an outdoorsy piney scent. And of course....reasonable price. Unknown on 1st Feb 2017
Love this soap! Scent is very strong and lasts a long time. Lather is thick and soap is slick. Very strong pine scent to it with a clean woodsy under tone to it. Hard to explain but very piney clean scent! Goes well with the Pig Trail bath soap as well :) Frank on 30th Jan 2017
Love the smell of this soap! It is like a pine forest but not like the cheap pine tree air freshener. It smells amazing in the morning to wake up to! It is my first stirling soap and will definitely not be my last. It is a great value even with shipping. I think stirling should get on amazon and they would sell out! Either way can't go wrong with stirling ozark. vt shaves on 23rd Jan 2017
Ozark Mountain is definitely my favorite soap, not only from Stirling, but overall. I just love the scent and of course the quality, slickness, and protection is top notch since it's Stirling. My fiancee says the scent is kind of "Christmas-y" but I really feel it is more like what I expect to smell walking through a mixed deciduous and coniferous forest. To my nose, there is not a single tree scent that overwhelms like in some others. It is more of a "tree collage" with some pleasant complexity. If that sounds like something you like, definitely buy yourself a sample at least.
By the way, the bath soap of this scent goes by the name "Pig Trail" and you'd do yourself a big favor to check that out too! Unknown on 8th Jan 2017
With Ozark Mountain, Sterling absolutely nails the scent of being high on an alpine mountain meadow on a spring day. It's by no means what I consider a traditional shave scent but, oh man, I just can't get enough of it. If you're looking for a scent that will transport your mind to an idyllic wilderness, this is it. As for performance: it almost goes without saying that Sterling offers outstanding slickness and protection. R. Charpentier on 5th Jan 2017
