Piacenza is close to Parma. A blend of citrus, florals, Rosemary, Amber, and musk. A scent for the ages. (Fragrance Oil)
This was another soap I was super anxious to try out, the wife has a pretty sensitive nose and I was shot down immediately before even getting to try it. If you like aqua di parma, definitely try this out. I am sure like all other Stirling soaps it will have all of the slickness and lather you can hope for, unfortunately, I was not "allowed" to use this. I personally liked the scent, but I guess it is not for everyone. Josh on 18th Aug 2017
This is my first time trying Stirling Soap but to say I am impressed is an understatement. I will definitely be buying again once I get low, trying out a new scent or two. But this scent is so good, I may not even make it to try a new one. Jonathan W. on 2nd Aug 2017
First of all credit must be given to Stirling for producing the best shaving soap samples around. Instead of a small sliver of soap, Stirling provides a 1 oz three inch puck which when combined with a small tin purchased on their website perfectly simulates a full tub of soap allowing for one to build a great lather in the tin. Not to mention the waterproof lable that can be pealed off the puck packaging and stuck to the lid of your tin. These also make for perfect travel sized soaps. So simple yet so ingenious!! Why is Stirling the only company that does this?
Now to the soap. This was my first experience with Stirling soaps and it won't be my last!! After blooming the soap for 15-20 seconds with warm water, my Semogue boar brush whipped up a thick lather in no time which allowed me to easily face lather for a three pass shave. I reloaded the brush before starting my three pass head shave. Slickness was excellent. Post shave feel wonderful.
The scent of this soap cannot be beat if you are a fan of Aqua di Parma. There was an explosion of scent that filled my bathroom while I lathered this soap in the tin and on my face. My wife even commented on the scent as she was walking up the stairs to our room. The scent lingers for awhile post shave and I find that it is a perfect match with Fine Italian Citrus aftershave. This has become my go to summer soap/scent and I look forward to shaving everyday. I look forward to buying a full tub once I finally use up my wonderful sample. Thanks Stirling!! Excellent performer, like all Stirling soaps. Delicious fragrance reminding me of posh, elegant colognes. I find it better and more masculine than the overly sweet “Tuscany”. Unfortunately the strength of this “Piacenza”-scent is only about 3/10. Too faint for me. Patrick E. on 27th Jul 2017
Love the product.
Would like to see you make small sizes so we can try different scents . Unknown on 14th Jul 2017
Scent is quite good but hard to describe. I would say some citrus plus maybe peach or flowery undertones along with a clean soapy smell.Lathers well and you get a good rather in a reasonable amount of time. The refill size is perfect for a shaving mug. I load my brush about 1/2 full in the mug before forming lather in a bowl. This gives me enough lather to shave twice. The refill size of Stirling Shave Soaps last me about 4 - 5 months. George Hutman on 4th Jul 2017
Great slickness, great lather. Though I have not smelled AdP cologne, I understand this is a dead ringer. Regardless...this is a beautiful scent! Adrian on 5th Jun 2017
I have many Stirling soaps and love them all--and if I have time, I might write reviews of some of the others--but this one is so special I felt compelled to add to the long list here.
It IS as wonderful as everyone else says it is! I saw Jonathan Romanov do a review of it a few weeks ago on YouTube and he raved about it so much that I had to give it a try. I did and loved it so much I shaved with it two days in a row this week, a rarity for me as I have about 300 pucks of shaving soap and a giant rotation. The best scent I have ever experienced, bar none--and with the variety of scents I've tried from extremely high-quality artisan products, that's saying a great deal.
The soap performance has been adequately described by others and I agree with their high praise.
I loved it so much that I bought a couple of extra pucks (!) for myself and an aftershave splash, plus a puck and a splash for my brother, who I'm sure will be thrilled.
Thanks, Stirling, for what feels like a gift and not a purchase! Pete from Oro Valley, AZ on 4th May 2017
Piacenza, what can I say, is just what I was searching for for what I would call a summer scent, or warmer weather. It is bright, fresh with a nice citrus note, not overpowering but not suttle either. Stirling's performance goes without saying, second to none. I have to love a scent, not just like it, for me to keep it at this point. I love this Mike S. on 27th Jan 2017
There are. many choices when it comes to aristian type soaps, Stirling stands out from the others. My sense of smell has diminished, Stirling is one the few soaps I can smell.
Piacenza, a rich complex scent that is exotic.Super performer excellent slickness and post shave feel.
The best shave soap for your money.
As always excellent customer service. Bradley A Harris on 23rd Jan 2017
BOOM! Who needs Aqua Di when you got Stirling! Amazing performance as always, great lather, slick, loads in half the time of other brands. Scent lasts and lasts. So glad Stirling makes this scent it's a year round performer. I get tons of compliments on how good I smell and I haven't even bought the aftershave yet! Piacenza easily rolls into my #1 spot. Buy it now. You won't regret it. Adam on 17th Jan 2017
As usual, the smell is unbelievable. Performance wise it's second to none. Plenty of beautiful slick, Protective lather. Loafs easily. Plenty of lather for multiple passes. The smell lasts for a long time as well. Highly recommended. Jim L. on 5th Jan 2017
I expected much based on reviews, but Stirling delivered more. Piacenza lathered extremely well in the hard water I have and provided a thick and slick cushion for my shave. The scent shouted "barbershop" to the world. Will try additional Stirling soaps in the future. Paul on 29th Dec 2016
Just want to say, simply, Stirling is one of my two favorite soaps, and Piacenza is one of my favorite Stirling fragrances. Amazing lather and smells great! KR on 17th Nov 2016
To me I knew this scent as soon as I smelled it, Italian Barber XXX original scent, this actually smells better. Intoxicating citrus smell but its more than simple citrus. Try it you will love it! Nick on 9th Nov 2016
This is another wonderful offering from Stirling. It starts out heavy on the citrus and dries down to a really clean linen scent with a tinge of musk. I have the soap and the aftershave and if I knew what to expect from the scent when I ordered, I would have gone ahead and picked up the balm as well!
To me the scent is reminiscent of Pinaud's citrus musk.
I can't imagine not liking this scent if you are a fan of crisp and clean scents. Beautiful. Will in Memphis on 11th Oct 2016
Smells great, performs like a rock star, and feels great post shave, Highly recommend. Todd Rose on 6th Oct 2016
Let me start by saying that Acqua di Parma is one of my favorite colognes of all time. I have a large bottle of their Colonia cologne, their Collezione Barbiere shaving cream/soap, Colonia balm and Colonia splash. I love AdP scent and products! While I think that the AdP shaving croap is an excellent performer, it does not have the Colonia scent anymore; they reformulated it to be less offensive to sensitive skin, and took all of the perfume components out of it. While it smells pleasant (like wheat germ), it no longer quite had what I was looking for in my Colonia shaving routine. Because of this, I was forced to look elsewhere to find a soap for my shaving routine with a great lather and that same AdP Colonia scent.
I tried a few different products that were touted to have that the Colonia scent; some had the scent pretty close, but were lacking in the performance department. Others had great performance, but the scent was not quite there. Sterling's Piacenza truly nailed the scent and the performance! I mean, you can't tell the difference scent or performance wise! Great job guys!
If you've tried any Sterling shaving soaps, then you know that all of their products build a luxurious, cushiony, slick lather that you can rely upon in every single one of their various scents. So now, I've got my $10 Sterling Piacenza soap, whipped up and applied with my $180 silver-tipped badger brush, shaved off by my $130 gold Merkur Futur, followed up with a $80 AdP splash, then an $80 AdP balm, and finally my $170 AdP cologne...The soap doesn't miss a beat! It hangs in there performance-wise and fits perfectly scent-wise with the products that are 8 to 17 TIMES MORE PRICEY!!!! It seriously contends with the original products it's scent was designed to emulate; I'm simply blown away! Keep doin what you're doin, Sterling! In my opinion, this soap is priceless! Benwin Jagger on 9th Sep 2016
Performance wise, as all Stirling Soaps, the soap is pretty much the top of the line. Easy to lather, great slickness and fantastic protection. Post-shave is second to none!! And that goes for all Stirling soaps that I've tried to date.
The Piacenca Scent is inspired by Acqua de Parma... unfortunately I can't compare how close it is to the original due to lack of having the original to reference to. But I've had the pleasure of checking it out at a perfumery in Europe before and it definitely goes in the direction!
Okay, so its going to be pretty heavy on the citrus the first time you hang your nose into it... its pretty strong right out of the puck!! I like it that way!!! Don't change a thing please!!
Once you lather it it brings all the other components into play to this very nice cologne scent. It even stays around, just from the soap, long enough that half an hour later you can still tell what you shaved with... fantastic!!
OK... long story short. Stirling is my Numero Uno in the den... not just this scent!! JC aka Quink on 2nd Sep 2016
It smells like Lemon Extract to me but that's because I've never used Parma.
That being said the lather was incredible even for a Sterling...out all the Sterling soaps I've tried this was the thickest, slickest and most voluptuous soap I've ever lathered Unknown on 27th Aug 2016
