Classic, earthy vetiver. Pairs well with the Port-au-Prince and Glastonbury shave soaps.

The aroma and soothing nature is second to none. This is a reorder. Plan on giving some at Christmas time. It's that good. Carl Melin, Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas on 12th Oct 2017
I recently saw that Stirling had several different Witch Hazel & Aloe toners available and I decided to give this one a try. I am a HUGE vetiver fan (it's one of my favorite scents) and this toner is incredible. Not only is the face feel much better than the more well-known brand of Witch Hazel that I use, but the scent is out of this world. You should try this if you love vetiver, or, if you're on the wrong side of the love-hate debate vetiver often brings out, try one of the other scents in the Stirling toners. I know I want to try some others now! David Jones on 5th Sep 2017
For a no burn, skin conditioning smell good, this just fits the bill. It has an earthy and woodsy smell that just suits me to a "T". In fact, I rank this as top shelf stuff that will more than compete with Old Spice, Aqua Velva, Clubman and Brute. For a smell that is well over 100 years old, Vetiver has well stood the test of time. Had to have more, this is my second bottle. Carl Melin on 4th Aug 2017
So I was like many and thought this product smelled horrible at first. Tried it on my hands before applying it to my face and immediately rinsed them off. It smelled to me like dirt from the ground that came out a campfire. So instead of calling it quits on the sample I got I gave it another shot...and I'm glad I did!
It's a very earthy, smoky, natural scent that starts off very strong but fades away quickly to more of an earthy/green grass kind of scent. Hard to explain but it starts extremely smoky and then goes to the earthy scent. It's actually really nice as a night time splash as it isn't invigorating like a citrus or menthol based splash. Very nice, natural product that I feel is one of the best for skin care. So far my face has cleared up a lot and it feels really tight. I have tried all the witch hazels Rod has and this one is a must. Out of all of them this one gives me that "tight skin" feeling the most which I kinda like at night. I feel like it's working as it should. Overall it's a decent scent with extremely good skin care properties. Frank V on 6th Apr 2017
A very old scent that cannot be artificially produced. Earthy, woodsy, smokey and citrus. A unique one of a kind fragrance that deserves your rotation after you shave. The witch hazel and aloe cool and heal the skin. This is a must have alternative to the burn of after shaves that are alcohol based. This is an excellent choice. Carl Melin, Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas on 25th Jan 2017
I really LOVE this Vetiver. The scent is all classic, with a touch of smoke and mint, giving way to a clean, earthy scent. I would love to have this line expanded to Splash, Splash w/ menthol, shave soap, body butter...the whole nine yards! Andrew Cassity on 8th Oct 2016
Like many others I thought the smell of this vetiver was off when I first sniffed the open bottle. I tried it anyway and am so glad! The smell mellows out very quickly into the best woodsy outdoorsy vetivery scent ever. I love this stuff...and so do my wife and kids. Unknown on 30th Sep 2016
Most aftershaves that include vetiver are the grassy/soapy clean smelling types or if they are the Haitian smokey then they are blended out to a shadow of their former glory. Not this. This is smokey, dirty and visceral. For a long time I've wanted something to pair with my Haitian Vetiver soaps and this one does it perfectly. Not necessarily for the faint of heart. If you can't drink Islay Scotch straight up or stand near a roaring campfire without complaining, please move along, nothing to see here. The quality of care for your face is wonderful as well, leaves me soft and smooth feeling. Nate S. on 26th Sep 2016
This smells awful to me. It's not the earthy or fresh vetiver scent that I expected but is all smoke.
I have no idea how the product performed as I washed it off immediately. Unknown on 6th Sep 2016
I love just how good this smells. Smells like a good dram of Islay scotch. It has a milky consistency, seems more like a balm than a witch hazel splash. Leaves the skin feeling good as well. I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this, and I sure did not regret getting it. Fantastic product! Kwan on 11th Aug 2016
The scent of this is very interesting. somewhat smoky and it's very pleasing. I've grown to really enjoy the scent of this and it's very nice on the face. I wish that Stirling made this in an aftershave splash and balm as well. Unknown on 22nd Mar 2016
I have used the Aloe Vera-Witch Hazel Vetiver for some time, and in my experience, there is not a better lotion for sensitive skin for those who shave with a bladed razor. It doesn't sting, helps heal razor rash, and soothes the skin. It also has the great Vetiver fragrance. Definitely five stars! BobArmfield on 16th Mar 2016
Having never used but straight Witch Hazel this product is incredible...skin is left soft and well hydrated. Would recommend this product for anyone that likes the Verviter sent and wants the best of both worlds Unknown on 29th Feb 2016
I truly love the Witch Hazel Aloe Stirling makes, wonderful product and it has helped clear up my face tremendously. This scent though is just not for me. I get a smell that is nearly impossible to describe. I attempted to put the Vetiver on my face but I could not bring myself to remove any from the bottle.
I gave the product a 3 star rating because the base of the Vetiver is good but the scent is not for everyone. Tommy Wortley Jr. on 16th Feb 2016
I've tried a couple other vetivers and this one is a nice earthy scent. Does not stink like socks. While this one is a distinct earthy scent I do find it refreshing as well. The witch hazel and aloe do their job well too. Greg on 25th Jan 2016
This is the real deal for Vetiver fans!
Don't judge it by sniffing the bottle, put some on and enjoy the ride! Lorne on 19th Nov 2015
I did a complete 180 on my opinion of this. I was already placing an order and I impulsively added this to the cart. I had no idea what Vetiver was or what it might smell like. When it arrived, I sniffed the open bottle and was accosted by what smelled like burned wood. It did not smell good to me at all. I considered tossing it out but I AM SO GLAD I DID NOT DO THAT.
One day I finished shaving and headed to get a haircut, knowing I would be taking another shower after the cut I decided to put on the "stinky" stuff since I would be washing it off soon. When I first put it on it was as awful as I expected. I even complained to my wife. By the time I got to my destination the pungent smell had turned into the most wonderful smell. I went from hating this to it being probably my favorite of all my Stirling products. I am absolutely addicted to this wonderful scent.
If you are put off at first, apply it and wait 5 or 10 minutes. The pungent smell turns into a very wonderful musky, earthy scent. It is very hard to describe but absolutely manly and awesome. When my bottle gets even close to running out I will be buying the largest bottle to make sure I never run out. Out of my 30 or so Stirling products (yes, I am an addict) this is probably my favorite. Mattsplat on 4th Aug 2015
Smells exactly like vetiver! Unknown on 3rd Jun 2015
Smells a little funky by itself, but once applied, a smokey, earthy, woody complexity comes out. Great staying power compared to a certain popular orange scented skin tonic I've been using lately. The skincare aspect is even better. I can skip my balm when I use this. westcoastdrumz on 15th Nov 2014
