Scent Description: A blend of Scots Pine, Fir Needle, Texas Cedarwood, and Lichen Essential Oils. This isn’t your typical “woodsy” smell found in shaving and cologne products. This is you taking a stroll through the forest when out of nowhere two trees jump out and pin you to the ground while a third tree sits on top of you and beats the stuffing out of you. Then, once he’s done, he jams some moss up your nose. Caution: May cause excessive Manliness.

NOTE: This is not a pine dominant scent. If you are looking for a heavy pine scent, please check out Scots Pine.

Ingredients: Denatured Alcohol, Witch Hazel, Essential Oil, Aloe, Glycerin, Hydrovance.

Directions for Use: Shake a small amount into your hand. Rub hands together and apply directly to skin. Due to the presence of alcohol, a slight burning sensation will occur. This should fade quickly.

Regular Menthol: Warning! This product contains menthol which can cause a cold or burning sensation. If discomfort occurs, wash the affected area with soap and water and discontinue use.

Glacial Menthol: Warning! This product contains high levels of menthol which can cause a cold or burning sensation. If discomfort occurs, wash the affected area with soap and water and discontinue use.

**NOTE: This item is not eligible for international shipment due to federal regulations.  Any international orders containing this item will be refunded in their entirety.

Full-Size: 100ml

Customers praised this aftershave's authentic pine forest scent, described as "crisp and refreshing" reminiscent of "pine trees and cool, fresh air." Most loved the woodsy, earthy notes, though one noted the 2018 scent reformulation was disappointing. Some mentioned longevity is moderate (3-4 hours), and slight greasiness fades quickly.

Can't stop smelling it

I'm sure this scent isn't for everyone but if you love the outdoors you'll probably love this. I bought a sample and the balm while it was on sale just to try it out and I'm glad I did. If you've been in woods for any amount of time you've smelled this and it's what I think of every time I wear this. Great thing is my wife likes it too.

A true Pine scent

A nicely modulated pine scent. Lasts as long as a typical aftershave. But it really hits the pine note I was after. Recommended if a clean-green scent is what you are after

Smells Great!

I love the scent of the Coniferous Aftershave splash. It is just delightful. I will wear it often.

This aftershave is fantastic, evoking vivid memories of my childhood spent in the mountains. The scent is crisp and refreshing, reminiscent of pine trees and cool, fresh air mingling with the earthy aroma of the forest floor. It transports me back to those serene moments among nature, where every breath felt invigorating and full of life.

Smells just like to shave soap

I really like this woodsy, earthy scent. Just need to be careful when pouring it out of the bottle to not get to much. :-)

Yeah, I mean... Wow!

Terrific aftershave! I feel like this could complement some other soap scents, as well. With the matching shave soap, the body soap sample, the thank you note and the epic shave, my Stirling Soap experience has been really great.

Amazing smell!

I this is my second batch of aftershave trials and I settled on mountain man before as my favorite but it has been replaced by coniferous. I will be getting the 100 ml of this when my current one is empty.

WHEN I WAS YOUNGER MY DAD AND I WOULD GO OUT AND CUT WOOD FOR THE WINTER AND THIS SMELLS LIKE A PILE OF SAWDUST ON A COOL FALL MORNING. AFTER SEVERAL STROKES OF THE CHAINSAW THE AREA WOULD BE SATURATED WITH THIS SMELL. THERE SEEMS TO BE A FAINT SMOKEY UNDERTONE WITH THIS AS WELL BUT I DIDN'T READ THAT ANY PEAT WAS IN THE RECIPE. I WOULD ASSUME THIS IS HOW AN OLD SAW MILL WOULD SMELL ON A DEW COVERED MORNING WITH A WOOD FIRE BURNING NOT FAR OFF IN THE DISTANCE. TOTALLY DIFFERNT VIBE FROM ANY OTHER MENS PRODUCT I'VE EXPERIENCED. VERY NICE AND GENUINE.

Scent Changed 2018 - Horrible

Disclaimer: I LOVE this company and I am a huge fan of their products. They make the best Bay Rum on the market.

Coniferous has been one of my favorite scents to start using in November and December. However, when I received my bath soap and aftershave splash this year (2018) I was extremely disappointed with the change they made to the scent. It smells AWFUL. The pine notes are practically gone altogether and there are hard to identify fragrant notes that smell like cheap perfume.

Mine is going in the garbage. Ugh.

Wow!

Like all other Stirling After Shave Splashes, Coniferous (with Menthol) is soothing, toning, and refreshing. And the fragrance! Forget drug store brands like Pino Silvestre and Acqua Di Selva. Forget department store colognes like Polo Green. This is the most most natural, most authentic, and most appealing wood fragrance I've ever tried. Roderick and Amanda have bottled the essence of a pristine forest on a crisp, cool day. Pure alchemy.

One of my favorite scents!

What more should be said? Coniferous is AWESOME! I love the nice deep woodsy/pine scent to it. Very green and earthy scent that smells like your outdoors. Women love this scent on me as well. I get lots of nice compliments as to how well I smell haha! Great product! Love to use this in the winter time or at night. Pairs well with Scotts Pine Sheep, Tea Tree, Frozen Tundra, and Ozark Mountain shave soaps.

Very masculine woodsy scent.

Coniferous is as if I took a pine cone, some leaves, and some fresh broken pine needles and breathed them all in. It reminds me of when I would chop wood with my dad and get sap on my hands. Its that perfect woody piney scent.

A TRUE pine scent that soothes.

I've smelled several pine scents in my day, but never have I come across one quite as real as this one. Upon applying the aftershave I was mentally brought to the pine woods I once grew up in; and felt as if I had just shaved with a soothing pine cone as a blade. I have SUPER sensitive skin and had no skin irritation afterwards.

If you want a scent that smells exactly like pine, this is the one for you.

Moisturizing for an alcohol based AS.

I usually have dry skin so I always follow up my shave with some sort of AS or two (balm, witch hazel, etc). Given that it's the warmer seasons, I figured I'd take a risk and give some of Stirling's alcohol-based AS a try, despite alcohol's drying properties.

Coniferous is my favorite scent (like a load of trees) of all the samples I have yet acquired, so I was excited to use it. The alcohol content turned out to not be a problem for me (surprisingly). It seemed after one use that my skin was too dried out, but after several days of shaving this doesn't seem to be the case. It's probably the glycerin and aloe, and my skin feels nice and tight with a good burn after a shaving session.

Also, this smells a lot stronger than the Coniferous balm (which I've also sampled). I typically apply it twice per day to keep the scent around. It's a hefty scent at first, then mellows down until it's mostly gone after several hours. Everyone has different skin, so YMMV.

Very classy outdoor scent

Outdoor colognes/aftershaves/cologne solids seem to be the rage these days. I have a couple of woodsy cologne solids from other companies that are more Juniper and Spruce based. The cologne solid concept is really neat and I like them but from a fragrance point of view, the Stirling Coniferous is my favorite. It is a much more pure conifer scent that seems more "real" than the others. Maybe someday Rod will get into the solid thing and make a coniferous solid?

The great outdoors!

I use this as a cologne instead of an aftershave. I like the scent even better in the aftershave than in the shave soap, with no tallow or other ingredients to alter it. Beneath all the other spicy and tangy tree scents there's a deep bass note of pine tar that I love. Maybe more importantly, my wife likes it too.

This is the treesiest scent I’ve ever smelled. If you like fragrances that are frilly, sweet, flowery, delicate, you’re not going to like this one little bit. But if you love the smell of the outdoors, especially the smell of a cedar or pine forest, this may be what you’ve been waiting for.
Rod also issues a warning: “Caution: May cause excessive Manliness.” He’s not kidding. Every time I splash this on I see Lee Van Cleef staring back at me in the mirror, steely gray eyes steady and pitiless as they wait for some mean hombre to draw his six-shooter.

My only disappointment is that it doesn’t last all day, but then the best things in life tend to disappear before we want them to. Projection is very good for a while after I splash it on, but there's not a great deal of longevity. The scent is noticeable for about three hours, but by four hours it has faded to a very faint ghost. I generally use something less than a teaspoon on my face, shoulders, and hair, and about the same amount on my arms and chest. Using more yields a stronger scent but not a lot more longevity, so I suspect adding more fragrance oil wouldn't have a big effect on the longevity. I think these wonderful tree oils are fairly volatile, and there's probably nothing to be done about that. Some days when it's convenient I splash on some more after about four hours. I like the scent so much that I don't mind having to replenish it after a few hours.

Woodsy as woodsy can get.

Coniferous scents are my favorites. This one really fits the bill. To me the cedar is the predominate scent but it all blends well. Overall a great splash and the "tackiness" doesn't last long as some folks mention. Amazing match for the soap. If you love wood scents especially cedar this is your aftershave.

cold pine

The aftershave, Coniferous, was the closest match available. It's packaged in a dark green bottle, keeps out light, always a plus. The first scent I detected was cedar, and lots of it. It mellowed out to a pine tree/cedar mix. The additional menthol kept it cool and refreshing. The finish with the menthol, pine and cedar all working together felt like a sleigh ride through the forest. Very nice.

Great Scent

I really like this one. As other have stated, its a little strong if you smell in the bottle which made me hesitant to use it. But after you apply it and give it a few minutes it fades to a really nice subtle scent. I've tried a bunch of scents from Stirling at this point and put it in the same category as Glastonbury, but with less spice and more pine.

My wife told me it smelled like walking into a historic house that you have to pay $5 to enter....lol...whatever that means. She did end the comment with saying she liked it, so for whatever thats worth.

Terrific!

Love this. Great lasting pine scent that is not too strong but it lingers so you get a whiff every now and then which brings a smile to your face. Only complaint, just a touch too much glycerin in my opinion, the splash is just a little bit greasy for a minute or so after applied. Minor issue, will not stop me from enjoying and buying this again!

In addition, I just want to say that I recently placed an order with Rod and his Amanda. 4 bottles of aftershave and 6 bars of bath soap (I already have 15 pucks of shaving soap!). Everything came extremely well packed and in perfect condition. They were kind enough to throw in some samples, and I want anyone reading this to know that this is a business with excellent products and excellent customer service, and they deserve our support!

Pine Trail.

Very nice indeed. Like walking along a trail through the pine forest. I really like the nice sharp, resiney smell that hits you and then mellows out to a nice earthy, foresty outdoors smell. Smells like a nice hike on a beautiful fall day.
