Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do you offer sample sizes of your products?
Absolutely! The following products are offered in sample sizes: shave soaps (see individual product pages for purchasing), aftershave splashes, eau de toilettes, witch hazel & aloe splashes, and beard and pre-shave oils. We do not currently offer sample sizes in our other product lines as we have not found a viable way to produce, package, and/or ship these items in sample sizes.
2. How long do orders take to process/ship?
We usually process orders in 1-3 business days, however, during high volume times (product releases and holidays) order processing could take up to 5 business days. We are a small artisan (husband/wife team and a few employees) business and work Monday through Friday (with a few Saturdays during the Christmas holiday season) That said, we do strive to get orders out quickly and will alert customers of any issues that delay shipping past 5 business days.
3. What is the difference between natural, handmade soap and store bought soap?
Most of what passes for “soap” at the store is not only NOT soap, it is prohibited from being labeled as soap by the FDA. Seriously, look at the box of what you are currently using. There is a good chance that it will be called “body bar,” “moisturizing bar,” “body wash,” or another variation. The truth is that what you buy in the store, including in most high-end bath and body stores, is nothing more than a concoction of lab created chemicals that strips your skin of vital nutrients and moisture. Our soap not only preserves those nutrients and moisture, it builds them up with the best natural ingredients available.
4. What makes your bar soap different from other natural soaps on the market?
Value. The majority of natural handmade soaps you can find are far superior to anything bought from a store. That being said, most are out of the price range of everyday consumers. Let’s be honest, most people will have a hard time justifying paying eight dollars for a 3.5 ounce bar of soap, even if it is natural and handmade. We do everything we can to keep overhead down and offer a large 5.5 ounce bar for $4.95. These bars will last a long time and provide a great value that can satisfy those wanting to move away from chemical soaps without breaking the bank.
5. Does the lower price mean lower quality?
Absolutely not! We use the highest quality ingredients in our natural, handmade soaps and will put ours against any others you can find. The majority of our soaps are 100% natural, and those that aren’t employ only the highest quality, safe, environmentally-friendly, fragrance oils.
6. Why don’t you have swirls and bright colors like some other handmade bar soaps?
We make artisan soaps, not artistic. While there is nothing wrong with the artistic soaps, that is not our style. We want the soaps to be kept as simple as possible because we want you to make them your everyday soap, not just something you would put in a gift basket. That means no dyes in our soaps. The bath soaps will either be a creamy off-white or another natural color from the essential/fragrance oil.
7. What is the plastic film some of your soaps are wrapped in?
That's Biolefin. Biolefin is a plastic that will degrade into biomass in 2-5 years, unlike regular plastic which takes hundreds of years. For more information on Biolefin and our soap wrapping, check out www.nationalshrinkwrap.com.
8. Why do you use animal fats in your soap?
Using animal fats in soaps is a practice that dates back thousands of years. They make for a hard, great lathering bar of soap that is rich in fatty acids. Plus, we believe that if animals are to be consumed, there should be no part of that animal that goes to waste.
9. Why don't you offer your Witch Hazel & Aloe Splash in scents like Sharp Dressed Man and Executive Man?
These scents come from fragrance oils which are synthetic. In order to keep these fragrance oils in suspension, it requires much more polysorbate. The additional polysorbate would not only change the product (for the worse) but we don't like using a lot of unnatural ingredients like polysorbate. We only use what is absolutely necessary to keep the oils in suspension.
10. Do you ship internationally?
Yes! In April 2024 we reopened our international shipping options. Please Note: International shipping does not include taxes or customs/duty fees. Also, if you are looking for alcohol-based products, please visit our Where to Buy page to find an international reseller near you that may stock these products.
11. Do you sell your soaps wholesale for resellers?
YES! Send us a message on the Contact Form.
