This was my first Stirling Soap, and I am incredibly impressed. As a big fan of blue designer fragrances, the scent hit the spot and was exactly what I expected. I'm a newbie at building lather, but this soap was easy to load and super slick, perfect for a smooth, three-pass shave. I purchased the refill puck, and it fits my apothecary mug like a glove. Stirling has absolutely earned a customer for life.

Scent: Deep Blue Sea is something I find myself wandering into the bathroom to sniff on occasion even when I’m not shaving. It’s complex enough that I struggle to put my finger on any particular note, but smells the most like a cologne of the scents I’ve tried. It’s masculine, it’s fresh, it makes you feel ready to take on the world… or at least layer it with other products.

Soap: I picked this up on a whim from another supplier and I’m glad I did. Stirling shaving soaps provide excellent lather, cushion, and glide as well as a superb value. I especially like that my skin is still slick even where the lather is gone, leaving me with protection even when my technique is less than optimal. Their shave soap is now my go-to; I have no notes for Stirling on the base product.

Product quality is great. But the scent is too astringent to me and I don't get a balance of scent notes. It's a little harsh and soapy-chemical. Lathers well.

The quality of the soap and products are high. This scent is not my favorite. It is very sharp to my nose and maybe best described as astringent or chemical. Its hard to male out the balance of notes.

I wear the cologne that inspired this scent. Very nicely done. Soap is amazing and lathers very well.

The smell from Deep blue is great, very clean, fresh, aquatic, and manly. I get amazing longevity from the refill puck size. The best shave soap I have used by far.

It smells great per usual

I ordered what I thought was the shave soap but not the refill. The refill was delivered. My son wanted the original product - the shave soap but not the refill, so I had to re-order and send it directly to him after Christmas. Since I ordered through Registry.com, I had no way of proving I ordered the refill instead of the original product. My son loves this product, so I will save the refill and give that to him another time. Not sure where the breakdown was, but I know now to pay better attention to what I am ordering.

I love the scent

Lovely aroma(could be a bit more pronounced) and lathers up easily. Great shave.

When I first opened this tub, I was immediately transported to the days of my youth, when my Grandfather would come pick us up and take us somewhere for the day. He was always freshly shaven and smelled of Aqua-velva. Once I started to whip this soap into a lather, the scent changed somewhat, losing some of the reminiscent scent, changing into its own unique one. It's clean, fresh, and kind of summery. As such, it can be used anytime of the year when you desire a feeling of warmth and sunshine.. Very pleasing..

I'll be quick: This is a classic, masculine "date night" scent, with all of the top shaving performance we've come to expect from Stirling. One of my favorite shave soaps from anywhere.

I love this scent. It is modelled after Bleu de Chanel which is a blue/ocean sort of scent. It smells of like citrusy musk which I personally enjoy very much. The quality of the soap is fantastic. Easy to lather up and takes a good amount of water for a nice slick shave.

This is my second container of Deep Blue Sea shave soap. I have used shave soap through the years as opposed to can shave cream. This shave soap is the best. The lather holds up well and the smell is great!

Second time grabbing this one, already knew I liked it. Great for spring/summer.

I got this as a sample in my first order from Stirling. Since it didn’t come in a plastic container I ended up squishing it into the bottom of a small bowl. I use the small bowl to saturate the brush with soap and then a larger bowl to build the lather. It took me a few tries to get the lather just right and not too watery. It whips up thick and creamy though and smells great. I look forward to using this on the days I shave. I think I’ll buy the five pack of samples next to try out more of the different scents. I love that this soap is made with tallow, the way soap is meant to be. If you’ve only ever used the lousy canned shaving foam, a product like this is a million times better. It makes shaving less of a chore and more of a really enjoyable morning routine.

Brings me back to the beach days! faintly reminds me of Hawaiian Surf cologne. Another great one from Stirling.
