Stirling products are great!! Just got mountain man shave soap,cologne, and after shave. Love the smell love the products!!!

I have been trying out scents to try to find one to use all of the time. This is definitely a finalist. I’m not really familiar with the original, so I can’t really say how it compares, all I know is that it smells great. Also, I don’t know what it is that is different about stirling, but it doesn’t dry out my skin like other aftershaves. I love all of their aftershaves.

A wonderful, sweet, fragrance. Mild floral smell. Very pleasant. I really like this one a lot.

Smells amazing, I use it on my person, I get compliments. I use it in a diffuser. My Boyfriend & I love this scent.

Great scent but not what you might think. As the description states is somewhat a copy of Creed Silver Mtn Water or something like that. So.its more of mtn spring or stream. Citrus, floral I would say.

Nice scent

Stirling always does a great job. Great products. Many scent options, shave soaps lather well. Fast shipping. The mountain man scent has just seemed off, very powdery smelling now. Second time to purchase with the same result. First time I noticed the scent change, Stirling refunded my money… Very stand up move. That’s why I continue to shop with these folks. I guess I will have to venture out and try some other scents that Stirling has to offer. I REALLY DO MISS THE OLD MOUNTAIN MAN scent I used to get. But, there are plenty more to try out on their menu. Again, these guys do a fantastic job overall. Buy some samples people, try em out!

Four stars just because the name is, in my humble opinion, incredibly misleading. I've lived my entire life in the Smokies and now Rockies. When I think mountain man it brings to mind scents like campfire, evergreen, cedar, moss, wet rock (it's a thing) and earth.

Yeah this ain't those things.

This is like if your mountain man got side tracked and went frolicking through a field of sunflowers. He's not quite roughing it out there. But hey, he's still having a good time.

Its a very, very floral scent. Very fresh, and delicate. Brings to mind a meadow of spring wild flowers with a gentle creek. Makes me feel pretty haha. I would dare say the scent is borderline women's perfume. Firmly unisex for sure.

As for it functioning as an aftershave, it's great. All the Stirling aftershaves I've used so far are around the same. Slight burn, then decently soothing afterwards. The base formula seems pretty solid solid and does it's job. I saw suggestions for adding menthol and I could see that being heavenly with this.

The scent lingers roughly
3-4 hours I would say say. After an hour it's not overwhelmingly strong but not quite subtle. You'll definitely smell it but I doubt anyone more than an arms length will. Overall solid and I could see myself using this during spring.

You just can’t go wrong with this scent.

To the previous reviewers that suggested adding menthol, thank you! The addition of menthol makes this the perfect aftershave. I am 3/4 of the way done with this aftershave and will definitely purchase again. Thanks Stirling!

Kinda smells like a cousin of Stirling's Hipster splash with an outdoorsy vibe. It's kinda fun to wear every once in a while.

Solid scent -- perfect combination between a more natural smell (like cedar chips or s campfire) and a cologne. I don't like super cologne-y scents, so this is perfect for my husband as an aftershave splash.

Stings after shaving, but that’s totally expected; the aftershave soothes after the initial burn. Since switching to DE shaving, I haven’t had any razor bumps or irritation.

Fragrance is really great! Had a guy in a hardware store come up to me and say, “this is probably a weird thing to ask, but what cologne are you wearing? It smells great!”

Of course, like we all know Stirlings performance, quality ingredients, and most importantly VALUE! are spectacular!, second to none! It just comes down to, " If you like the scent or not". And I really like Mountain man's scent, and most importantly the menthol, which I requested seperatly. The menthol to me, is what makes this splash, in fact, it would be so so, without it! Just another nice smelling expensive cologne knock off. But throw in some menthol and sploosh your knockin boots! It's in my top 5 with the menthol! And I have an embarrassing amount of as and splashes! Keep up the good work! AND PLEASE PLEASE MAKE A "CHROME" BY AZZARRO SOAP AND SPLASH!

Mountain Man aftershave with Menthol does not disappoint. It is a great finishing touch to the soap. I have noticed my skin feels and looks better since switching to Stirling products.

I love the scent of mountain man. It's a nice warm cologne type scent that I find very calming. The aftershave does an amazing job making my skin feel awesome afterwards too! Overall, great product and even better company!

It reminded me of walking in a field in the Spring. A hint of woods, near a field of flowers. It was the flowers that got me. My wife (who is very picky), said that it was too 'sweet' and 'perfumy' on me. So, my search for the perfect manly after shave continues. If the wife doesn't like it, then I don't get to wear it. So much for being manly...

I recently discovered that I love Creed Silver Mountain Water and I knew that I had to try Stirling Mountain Man. It does not disappoint. In addition to a fantastic scent it provides great performance and leaves my skin feeling refreshed and ready for the day (not to mention the nice menthol tingle I asked for additionally). It comes in a nice glass bottle to boot! Like the other Stirling products I've tried, this is a sure fire addition to any wet shavers cabinet.

I love this scent! If you like that earthy bergamot scent than this is for you. All the oils in this Stirling added to make Mountain Man pair so well together. I just wish it lasted a bit longer or was a bit stronger. It starts out real nice but fades away quickly. I guess its expected with citrus based scents. Great product though!

Stirling Mountain Man does an exemplary job of recreating the scent of Creed Silver Mountain Water (SMW). SMW is one of my favorite colognes, but is $160 a bottle, so to be able to capture the SMW vibe in an affordable aftershave product is really great. I love the scent of it so much I've been splashing it around even on non-shaving days. It actually projects better on me than SMW, and lasts almost as long (3-4 hrs versus maybe 6 hrs tops).

If you're wary about smelling like a "Mountain Man", don't worry. SMW is actually a unisex fragrance, or as Creed puts it, "a fragrance for women and men". In no way, shape, or form is this going to leave you smelling like a Jeremiah Johnson type. If anything, SMW (and Mountain Man, which for all intents and purposes smells the same) is a slightly feminine leaning cologne. I'd describe it as fresh, clean, and outdoorsy. The main note is green tea, which is kind of a soothing, relaxed note, not a cedar/sandalwood/woodsy note like you might expect from a "mountain man"-named product.

Just like my other Stirling aftershave splashes, this one has a great scent that perfectly matches the soap....excellent product.

When I think Mountain Man I think of Chiseled face Midnight Stag. Something really burly and slightly off putting. This is really nice, dare I say a little feminine. This is my wife's favorite scent out of all that I have tried, and I have tried a lot B&M, Chiseled Face, Mr. Fine, Old Spice classic and original, Razo Rock, every Pinaud, Captains Choice, and on and on and on, I mean A LOT! Don't let the name fool you, this one is great.
