This my one and only "less than stellar" review of Stirling Shave balms. The Bay Rum is so strong it is like being in a Bay tree forest just after a severe hail storm. Too strong for me. You may like it.

This has to be some of the best after shave balm I’ve used. It doesn’t take a ton and lasts quite a while.

The fine folks at Stirling included a sample of Bay Rum soap in one of my orders. My wife and I both fell for the scent. I ordered bath soap, shaving soap, splash and post shave balm and have absolutely enjoyed everything in this line. I just used the whole line up before going out to lunch today. Maaahvalous.

The balm has a pleasing bay rum scent and soothes my shaved head and face without a sting. I will be ordering this fine product again.

Just like their other products, this is high quality & something you can continue buying that won’t break the bank. Too many years I’ve compromised with cheap stuff that irritated my skin or skipped post shave products altogether due to cost and my skin suffered. I appreciate this balm is alcohol free, contains skin friendly ingredients & the texture not too thick or watery. The scent may not last long after applying it but the moisturizing capabilities and how your skin feels is really the most important thing.

Feels good in the face & smells great. Absorbs well and is not greasy.

I have definite preferences, some say at 75 I'm set in my way. Well shat ever the case, long ago I found Bay Rum was pretty consistent in scent and performance over the years, independent of manufacturers. Well, getting old means that your go to suppliers pass on and you are left searching for replacements. I found Stirling Soap Company back a few years when I lived in Alaska; this Bay Rum is as close to perfection as we can get., and it is consistent across all their products, from Shave Balm to hand soap, shampoo bar , and Eau de Toilette! Stirling Soap Products have proven to be dependable, and the people are friendly and helpful.

I love the scent of Bay Rum. Yours is the perfect blend and easily the best smelling Bay Rum that I have found. I liked it well enough that I also bought the after shave balm. My wife says that I smell like a cookie. I guess that's good.

When I applied this balm it was not greasy and my skin felt great. About one day later, I found my skin had a "breakout" of what I would call razor bumps that lasted for about a day or so. So for me unfortunately the post shave balm produced some unwanted results, but at least initially it really felt nice.

It is 5 o'clock somewhere. But no 5 o'clock shadow here. I purchased the Bay Rum scent in shave soap, witch hazel, and aftershave balm. Once again you have hit it out of the park: fast shipping and great product. The Queen of Hearts bar soap you threw in smells amazing. I hope the wife doesn't fall in love.

This was the first bay rum scent I've tried and I instantly liked it. It's my new favorite post shave balm from Stirling. Actually wish the scent was even stronger. It's a somewhat spicy, lingering scent.

I've been ordering Stirling products for over 2 years, and the Bay Rum post shave balm is the first one to disappoint. It feels fine going on and soothes well after shaving. The problem is the lack of scent. I don't know if I received a bad batch or if this is typical for the post shave balm. When I squeeze out the product and rub it into my hands I barely can smell the Bay Rum. In fact, the overwhelming scent is something akin to clay or dirt.

As far as conditioning the face afterwards, 5 stars. Scent, 1 star. So I split the difference and gave it 3 stars, but this is one product I likely won't order again.

This balm is pretty amazing for anyone who likes something that can moisturize your skin after a shave. Its not greasy nor does it feel heavy. I've got others that take a while to completely soak in and this one by comparison definitely takes very little time to become absorbed into your skin. Soothes, tones, & protects? Absolutely. Regarding the scent; however, I would say it completely misses the mark which is why i only gave it four stars. Bay rum is my favorite scent so I was a little disappointed when it came up short in that area. But, when this bottle runs dry I will certainly purchase another because as an aftershave balm it is one of the best I have found.

I opted for this over a more traditional aftershave due to dry skin. It is very soothing and it conditions my skin very well. The fragrance is amazing!

Great BAY RUM Scent that lingers . The balm is very soothing

I have very sensitive facial skin, most skin moisturizers cause my skin to burn and either break out or turn bright red. I was so pleased by the quality of the shaving soap that I decided to give the balm a try.
I am glad I did, this shave balm works very well for my skin, no burning, no turning red; just the opposite, it is a soothing, moisturizing balm after each shave.
Give it a try, I don't think you will be disappointed.

This balm has a pleasant scent and goes on with no greasy feel. Rubs in nicely and very little is needed.

I absolutely love the Stirling Bay Rum scent! I've got the shave soap and aftershave, but the balm is really what makes this! The scent remains all day long, giving me a really nice lift. This is my first Bay Rum, as I'm a relatively new wet-shaver (four months), but I can't imagine trying any other brand for this scent. Sold for life!

A fantastically cooling and soothing balm of the same high quality that you expect from a Sterling product. The price is excellent and the balm soothes and moisturises very well while still holding a significant scent presence that lasts throughout the day.

A great product, works well with the soap and really well as a post shave balm even with other makers soaps.

Great Bay Rum scent, wonderful moisturizer, very soothing...win! win!! WIN!!! I primarily use this as an after shower moisturizer, but have used it after a bad shave and it works GREAT on both measures.

The scent doesn't last on me as long as I would prefer, maybe 4 hrs, but the other properties of this balm are top notch!

It turns out that Bay Rum isn't my kind of scent which is why the sample size is a great option. Still, I can't complain about the quality. Like the all the Stirling products I have purchased so far, the ingredients are fantastic.

Top notch, I have Psoriasis and Eczema and this stuff is very easy on my skin and keeps it moisturized all day. I have the Bay Rum, Sharp Dressed man and Sandalwood. You simply can't go wrong with any of Striling's Products.

Its so Great to Use an After Shave that Does not Burn. Makes your skin soft and restores moisture.

I use the bay rum aftershave splash. It burns, but I love it. It is obviously heavy on the cinnamon and/or clove. I apply the balm immediately after and it soothes the burn right away. The balm has a sweeter, creamier smell that is the perfect compliment to the aftershave. I smell like bay rum all day.

This is a high quality product. It moisturizes and protects for hours. I will sometimes get a little bit of irritation or itchiness towards the end of the day as my beard growth gets to a certain point so I will often times apply a small amount of this and it soothes my skin beautifully.

There's a lot of burn from the cinnamon, but it's so delicious that I'm going to tough it out.
