Leaves your face feeling moisturized for most of the day. Lathers up nice. Smells so good, that if you're having a bad day you'd think, "hey, at least I smell good"

I really liked the manly scent of this one.
The soap lathered up nicely and my safety razor glided over my skin making for a very smooth shave.
Combined with a shower afterwards using one of your bath soaps, my face felt awesome the entire day.
I ordered a puck refill to try since I prefer using a shaving mug.
The puck was a bit bigger than the shaving mug I wanted to use it in but the soap is squishy enough I could squeeze to a smaller diameter and pack it into the mug.

I actually used the Bay Rum first, I really like it. All of the samples smell good. I'm glad I tried your products.

Balanced scent well done. Good shave. Makes me smile. I enjoy being in the mountains.

Fresh clean smell. Don't get silver mountain water from it. Its in that clean scent realm though.

Stirling knocks it out of the park again with this one, I own Creed’s Silver Mountain Water, and unless you have a trained nose for fragrances there's zero differences in the scent profile, as for the shave top notch as always.

This is Stop #2 on my Tour De Force of Stirling Shaving Company’s soaps. The quest: Find the most appealing and most comfortable shaving soap for my extremely sensitive skin. Who I am: A wetshaver of 15+ years, using a DE razor exclusively for the last 10+ years.

I’m very surprised by this one. I saw ‘Mountain Man’ and expected it to be something akin to ‘Ozark Trail’: forest-y, woodsy, outdoors-y. But I’m blown away by the smell I got instead.

It’s floral, slightly powdery, masculine, addicting, appealing. Definitely hits all the notes as described. But I also detected a very very small and particular “cologne-y” scent, like I just rubbed a cologne right into my face. Not a bad thing. Actually, it’s awesome. A man could wear this to church or to the office, any formal situation; but in any other casual situation as well.

As always with Stirling, a very nice lather and cushion. Takes a little time to lather and requires lots of water.

I’ve never tried Silver Mountain Water, so the closest cologne in my collection is “Valentino” - the brown EDT in a clear bottle. I think if I were to wear both Valentino and Mountain Man, they would complement each other well with the powdery notes.

I've been using this shave soap in this scent for at least 7 years now. It makes a great lather and leaves my skin feeling good afterwards. I tend to get compliments when I shave and then go out and about after, so I even have the eau de toilette in this scent. It's a very subtly classic smell, not as strong as some other scents, but it still shines.

This fragrance is a little subtle, but that's perfect. It's very fresh, exactly like a cool breeze on top of a grassy mountain in the summer. Reminiscent of the watered down lemonade kids sell at a stand on the sidewalk, a quick, delicious, refreshing chug that leaves you wanting more. It's neutral enough that it will pair with almost any aftershave or EDT, but it pairs especially well with citrusy, watery, grassy, bright, and fruity fragrances. I use this fragrance most frequently for my shave soap, but lately I'm using Mountain Man pre-shave oil along with Dunshire soap, followed by a Deep Blue Sea aftershave splash. Very versatile, smells awesome, and as always, the Stirling shave soap tallow base is a home run for a bump-free shave. 10/10

I received a sample of this soap and fell in love with the scent immediately so I shaved with it on the spot. When my shave was done I jumped on line and ordered the soap, aftershave splash and aftershave balm with no hesitation. This really is great stuff!!

I take scent reviews from guys I come into contact with lightly. I’ve never gotten this many compliments or questions about a scent. I have the solid cologne in this scent and people come up to me in the street complimenting it.

My mother hates perfumes and colognes because they give her headaches; she told me she loves this scent on me. My roommate told me she loves my cologne. My girlfriend sleeps against my neck so she can smell the scent.

I highly recommend the scent, and the soap gives an unbelievably smooth shave. I have sensitive skin and the fragrance never causes problems.

It’s floral, woodsy, and piney. Really a perfect masculine scent. I’ve never recommended something more.

After trying the EDT and not being blow away by it, I decided to try out the soap since it was highly regarded on some other forums.
It's crazy how different it is from the EDT.
While the green tea is still powerful, it smells much grassier than the EDT. The citrus and musk are also prominent where it fails in the EDT.
I really like this and will definitely keep it stocked in the rotation. Long lasting and unique among all the soaps I've tried.

I first want to start out giving huge credit to the Stirling Soap brand/company: They included this as a free sample in my last order -- WAIT -- companies still give free stuff these days? - Say what????!!!!! YES --- Stirling DOES! The thing is, of the 5 scents I picked out to try with their 5 sample pack -- I like this one the best! Manly scent for sure - very clean and fresh feeling afterward! Again - the Stirling Soap quality is absolutely outstanding! Used with the right technique/brush/bowl - you can work this into such a rich lather in no time! Love the format of their webfront end, and love what they do. And no - I do not work there! Cheers! Mountain Man to the rescue! I got a sample pack from Chiseled Face, and only sort of liked 1 out of 10 scents - crazy (it was the menthol one - sad for sure)

Easy to use making shaving a pleasant experience

It's one of my all-time favorite soaps. It has a fantastic scent, lathers great, slick, cushions the bread when shaving, and makes my face nice and smooth.

Not only is this an awesome shaving soap, its lather is super rich and lasts a very long time! I was buying a new razor/brush so I thought I would try a different brand but it wasn't even close to the Mountain Man Sterling soap so I returned it and bought a new tub Mountain Man! Looking forward to its continued use.
